Outreach ProgramsHumane EducationOCPA offers a humane education program for schools. We have speakers available for presentations at schools, youth groups, and boys and girls clubs. We also assist students in starting animal rights clubs. Humane education has been taught for years by humane societies and SPCAs to elementary school students in the context of teaching kindness toward dogs and cats. OCPA defines humane education much more broadly to include kindness to all animals, including human animals as well as to the Earth itself. Humane Education is part of the California Education Code, Section 233.5 which states that “We shall teach kindness toward domestic animals and the humane treatment of living creatures.” For more information or to request a humane educator to speak at your school or youth group, please contact julie.meskell@ocpausa.org. Speakers BureauOrange County People for Animals is happy to provide a free guest speaker for your
civic, cultural, environmental or faith-based group, gathering or event. Presentations can be made on a variety of animal-related topics and can be interactive if desired.
For more information or to request a speaker, please contact information@ocpausa.org. |
